Message: I am emailing you today regarding SB 5. This legislation will undermine the basic protections of collective bargaining that have provided Ohioans with public safety labor peace for 27 years. In 2010, only 17 negotiations went to arbitration resulting in an average pay increase of 2.28%. The arbitrator sided with the City over 53% of the time in regard to wages and over 71% of the time over health care. The collective bargaining bill removed our ability to strike and provided the safety forces with a fair resolution to a contract dispute. SB 5 will eliminate all fairness to negotiations and I urge you to help stop SB 5. Thank you.
